Course Description and Learning Objectives

Description:

This seminar will focus on working with children in various settings, including schools, clinics, and homes. The therapeutic powers of play help us to create techniques to use with different types of clients. Participants will learn many techniques to use in these settings, from several different theoretical orientations, and practice some of the techniques in the webinar. Metaphorical storytelling will also be reviewed so that participants can use this technique in helping children with psychological difficulties. There will also be an overview of how to use play therapy techniques in assessment. Videotapes will be used to enhance the didactic presentation.
