Play therapy no longer needs to be defined as only for children. This workshop will illustrate the use of play therapy across the lifespan. Experiential, as well as video case examples, will enhance the didactic presentation. This Workshop will include 2 hours of cultural and diversity issues in play therapy. Come learn and have fun.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the power of play in play therapy with people of all ages
  • Describe two play therapy interventions to facilitate treatment for any client.
  • Examine and evaluate the best play therapy orientation to use in the treatment.
  • Apply different play therapy techniques for different age groups.
  • Use play therapy techniques for adults.
  • Select different play therapy interventions based on criteria.

Heidi G. Kaduson Ph.D., RPT-S

Dr. Heidi Gerard Kaduson is a licensed clinical child psychologist in New York and New Jersey. She received her Ph.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She specializes in the evaluation and intervention services for children with a variety of behavioral, emotional, and learning problems.

Dr. Kaduson uses Play Therapy for individual counseling, group psychotherapy, and social skills training. She has lectured throughout the world on Play Therapy, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and Learning Disabilities. She has trained and/or supervised thousands of individuals around the world. Dr. Kaduson is Past-President and a past-Member of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Play Therapy, as well as the Director of The Play Therapy Training Institute.
