In this unprecedented time, play therapists have had to shift treatment from in person – to a telehealth platform. This Webinar will illustrate how this transition can be done, along with many play therapy techniques to use with children of all ages. Play therapy can be done with infants throughout the lifespan, and now there are ways to bring the therapeutic powers of play right to the children in their home environment through Tele-play Therapy. Through this didactic presentation, we will use DVD presentations of how teleplay works with children in play therapy.
- Identify how the therapeutic powers of play and play therapy can engage a child through telehealth.
- Describe play therapy techniques with caregivers and children to enhance their connection and bond.
- List 3 different play therapy techniques to foster communication.
- Utilize different play therapy theoretical orientations to facilitate play therapy through telehealth.
- Compare different play therapy skills to utilize with children through telehealth.
- Apply two therapeutic powers of play to enhance verbalization of feelings.
