Course Description and Learning Objectives

Description:

Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder. Often children with autism experience needs, struggles, and manifestations different from neurotypical children. This webinar will address how play therapy interventions can be used to help children with autism achieve and grow in identified areas of need. Play struggles and strengths will be highlighted, research related to using play therapy with autism will be covered and play therapy interventions will be demonstrated.​


Learning Objectives:

1) Identify how play manifests in children with autism, especially during a play therapy session.

2) Express how research supports the use of play therapy with children with autism.

3) Describe at least 4 play therapy interventions that can be used for autism issues.
