Description:
The growing field of Play Diagnosis and Assessment provides many formal as well as informal techniques which facilitate the identified child’s ability to participate in the evaluation process. The goal of this seminar is to present a general overview of the field. The seminar will include a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of play assessment and will survey a variety of play techniques and scales that can enhance the assessment of children and their families. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the participants with some of the available alternative procedures for gleaning information through play behaviors. Although a few methods will be highlighted in some detail, most will be generally reviewed with regard to their purpose and potential usage.

- Demonstrate some informal play assessment tools
- Describe the transdisciplinary assessment and its advantages for all children
