Group play therapy methods can be used to help children reach both therapeutic and educational goals. The social interactions and easy-to-learn, fun atmosphere of group play interventions can assist with the development of social skills, self-assertiveness, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Classroom activities will also be discussed and illustrated to integrate play therapy into the learning experience of children. These group play therapy techniques are for school-aged children through adults.

Heidi Gerard Kaduson Ph.D., RPT-S

Dr. Heidi Gerard Kaduson is a licensed clinical child psychologist in New York and New Jersey. She received her Ph.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She specializes in the evaluation and intervention services for children with a variety of behavioral, emotional, and learning problems.

Dr. Kaduson uses Play Therapy for individual counseling, group psychotherapy, and social skills training. She has lectured throughout the world on Play Therapy, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and Learning Disabilities. She has trained and/or supervised thousands of individuals around the world. Dr. Kaduson is Past-President and a past-Member of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Play Therapy, as well as the Director of The Play Therapy Training Institute.
