Description:

At this time when our world is dealing with the effects of Covid 19, more than ever we need storytellers who illuminate pathways of hope and healing in Play Therapy. Storytelling can be viewed as dancing with words within a Play Therapy session. Just as dance uses music and movement to tell a story, so too do stories create imagery, sensory and emotional attunement, a partnership between the play therapist/storyteller and the child/listener. Like dancing, storytelling in play therapy inspires clients to move beyond the limitations of life’s challenges, connect to cultural values, and discover new possibilities for reconnecting to the rhythm of life’s magic.

Through her gift of storytelling, creativity, and play, award-winning transcultural Play Therapist Dr. Joyce Mills offers us “Spiritual Vitamins,” which are resiliency-focused approaches to replenish inner strength, nourish hope, and rejuvenate joy, creativity, and heartfelt inspiration in our daily lives, and with the children, adolescents, families, and communities with whom we work
